Bhavik Lodhia, University of Oxford (a geology student)
I thoroughly enjoyed my time at PSU and in Russia. The workload varied in intensity through the internship, and a positive aspect of the programme was its flexibility, and for the wishes of the students to influence the schedule. The highlights of the internship for me, was the geophysical data gathering in Sarakyevo village, and the river expedition along the Usva River. The geophysical data gathering work was extremely useful as it provided the opportunity to apply the skills that I have learned in lectures when at Oxford. In all, I feel as though the experience of coming to a country with which I previously had no experience with was extremely rewarding, and am happy that I left PSU with both positive experiences in the academic and adventurous fields, and richer in friends.
