Perm State University (PSU) has announced a start for a mini-grant scholarship in History and Politics. Eligible for the scholarship are 3rd and 4th year undergraduate students, MA and post-graduate students of the Faculty of History and Politics, PSU with distinguished academic performance. 

The mini-grant scholarship of RUB 30,000 ($ 400) comes as a one-off payment and is meant to provide additional support for research, collecting empirical data or public projects.

Initiated in 2018 by PSU alumni, the scholarship commemorates late Dr. Oleg Podvintsev, a known public figure, researcher and teaching professor Faculty of History and Political Sciences, PSU (Историко-политологический факультет ПГНИУ) and aims to promote bright students in the mentioned subjects.

The scholarship is available to both Russian and international scholars. Recently, 13 students from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Haiti, Indonesia, Iraq, Nigeria, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are studying at the Faculty of History and Political Science at Perm State University. The Faculty successfully operates, regularly hosting for international and national academic events, providing academic mobility for students and teaching staff.

PSU Pays Compensation for Tragedy Victims

By the end of the previous week, Perm State University has paid compensation and offered support to those affected by the tragedy of 20 September – both families of the deceased, and wounded students and teachers.

41 people received financial support from PSU budget. Victims and their families received all possible assistance – medical, psychological and financial.

Besides the University administration being involved, voluntary donations of RUB 855,776.67 were made to PSU Endowment Fund (Фонд целевого капитала ПГНИУ) – expressing support by University patrons, students and teachers, and a wider civil community.

The University encourages the ongoing support of the tragedy victims, and expresses gratitude for each and every person involved. The dedicated bill remains open. The funds raised will be used to provide a long-term assistance.

PSU Endowment Welcomes Applications for Travel Grants

What is that unites our students from different faculties, studying various disciplines? All of them may enjoy the support of mini-travel grants by Perm University Endowment Fund. To win a travel grant is to get an opportunity to present your work to a wider and competent audience, thanks to co-financing from the Fund.

At PSU, as elsewhere in Russian universities, the policy of equal rights and opportunities is fully applicable to both Russian and international students. To participate, candidates must fill out an application and send it to via e-mail to . For the recent competition, applications will be accepted until 30 April 2021.

Young scientists, undergraduate and graduate students, doctoral students, teachers and researchers of Perm State University under 35 years old are invited to participate. Winning the competition allows to compensate study-related their travels in 2021. The total amount of travel grants is RUB 200,000 ($ 2,600).

Founded in 2014, the Perm University Endowment Fund grows exclusively on voluntary donations by its contributors – graduates, students, teachers and friends of the University. According to the endowment mechanism, the funds are not spent, but transfer to the managing agent to generate income for the coming year, allowing to support academic and social activities on campus, and beyond.
